Adults race route

The adults race begins and ends the Plough. Prior to the race the carts will gather at the farmwyard across from the Plough, parade down St Peter’s St and back up to the farmyard. You will be called to the grid at the appropriate time. Your route departs down St Peter’s Street, towards Green Street to meet up with Moorfield Road and then to continue the traditional Soap Box Derby route.

Childrens race route: 4 to 7 and 8 to 11 year olds

The childrens race starts and finishes at the Plough. You will depart from the Plough, head down St Peter’s Street, towards the war memorial and back to finish at The Plough. Keep to the left at all times. Before the race you will be asked to follow the same route and will be invited to form up on the grid. Follow instructions by our marshalls.

Childrens race route: 12 to 15 year olds

The older childrens race starts and finishes at the Plough. You will depart from the Plough, head down St Peter’s Street, along Chapel Street, around the triangle at Green Street and following the route back to finish at The Plough. Keep to the left at all times. Before the race you will be asked to follow the same route and will be invited to form up on the grid. Follow instructions by our marshalls.

Road closures

The following roads in Duxford are closed to traffic during the Soap Box Derby.

• Hunts road
• Hinxton road
• St John’s Street
• St Peter’s Street
• Chapel Street
• Rectory Road
• Green Street

Roads ajoining onto these roads will have their access suspended except for critical situations. Please respect the marshalls at all times and their instructions.
